Our Prospect location proudly serves the close-knit community of Prospect and the surrounding towns in New Haven County. Often called the “Best Small Town in Connecticut,” Prospect is known for its welcoming neighborhoods, strong community spirit, and small-town character—values that align perfectly with the way the LaBonne family has done business for generations.

Before becoming LaBonne’s Market, this location was home to Oliver’s Market, a well-known local grocery store that served the Prospect community for many years. Oliver’s built a reputation as a trusted neighborhood market, and when the opportunity arose in 2019 for our family to acquire the store, we knew it was important to preserve the role it had long played in the community.

After acquiring the location, we completed a full renovation and reopened the store in 2020 as the newest LaBonne’s Market. Our goal was to build on the foundation Oliver’s created while bringing the same quality, service, and fresh food selection that customers have come to expect from LaBonne’s Markets.

Today, our Prospect store offers a full selection of fresh groceries, premium meats and seafood, locally sourced products, prepared foods, and everyday essentials. Our team works hard to make every shopping experience welcoming and convenient, continuing the tradition of friendly, neighborhood service that both Oliver’s and LaBonne’s have always valued.

The LaBonne family’s commitment to fresh food dates back generations, beginning when George LaBonne delivered meat and fish to customers by horse and buggy. That same dedication to quality and community continues today across all of our Connecticut locations.

Our Prospect location also offers catering services designed to make hosting easier.
