Rob LaBonne Acquires Southbury Self Storage

Southbury, CT — Congratulations to Rob LaBonne on his recent purchase of Southbury Self Storage, the only climate controlled self storage facility in Southbury, CT!

Rob’s connection to the business began years ago, when he and his then-girlfriend (now wife), Sam, moved to Southbury in 2016. The couple rented an apartment next door to what was then called Store Haus, where their dog often played with owner Dave’s dog. The two men quickly became friends, sharing many mutual interests and staying in touch even after Rob and Sam moved to another part of town.

When Dave decided to retire, Rob jumped at the opportunity to purchase both the business and the property. The sale officially closed in March of 2020.

Now, Rob and Sam are thrilled to begin their journey as small business owners in the town they call home. Rob will operate Southbury Self Storage as a side venture while continuing his full-time career at LaBonne’s Markets, the family-owned supermarket chain his family has operated for six generations.
